Quetta – Unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle killing atleast five members of the ethnic Hazara Shia co
mmunity, police said.
According to police, the vehicle was ambushed and di
rectly fired bullets killing at five Hazara Shia on the spot. The armed motorcyclists were able to flee the crime scene unheard.
In a recent wave of sectarian violence that has been happe
ning for
more than a decade, Hazara Shia co
mmunity has proven to be the worst affected co
mmunity so far.
In the past 15 years over 1,400 incid
ents recorded of violence and targeting killings have taken place against Hazaras in Baluchistan alone.
