KARACHI: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan visited Pakistan Coast Guard Headquarters and Rangers Headquarters on Saturday.
The Interior Minister believed a detailed strategy needs to be formulated for close coordination among various institutions to achieve the aims and objectives of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He expressed these views during his visit to Pakistan Coast Guard Headquarters in Karachi. The Minister said the Coast Guard play a vital role in protecting
the country’s marine frontiers. On the occasion, he was given a detailed briefing on the operational matters and working of the Pakistan Coast Guard.
He also addressed the 24th passing out parade ceremony of Pakistan Rangers Sindh in Karachi on Saturday morning. “Rangers have played a h
istoric role in bringing peace to Karachi and other parts of
the country”, he added.
Seven hundred and eighty-two Jawans have passed after completing their training course.
The Interior Minister said that Rangers have set a h
istoric precedent through their sacrifices and val
or in combating terrorism.
“Within three and a half years, rangers have successfully conducted 9,500 operations and squeezed a massive amount of weapons that were to be used for creating insurg
ency8221;, the minister stated.
He asserted that the days have gone when
the city used to come to a halt on the whims of one man.
“After every three months the issues related to th
e extension of Powers allotted to the Rangers become the point of conflict – it should not be politicized”.
